Bulletin for the meeting held at the Ocean Grove Hotel on May 24, 2005
Welcome: President TAG Kemp.
President Kemp opened the meeting with the royal toast and welcomed members, visiting Rotarians and guests.
Thanks to those members who attended the District Assembly in Stawell.
The club has achieved the largest membership growth in the district this year. This is something to be proud of.
The Board has decided to donate $5000 to the SES for a new shed to store their new vehicle in. The challenge is laid down to other clubs to match our donation.
A Trivia Night will be held at Ballarat South Rotary. More details to follow.
New Organ Donor forms will be made available due to changes in the law regarding consent.
The Walking Track working bee will not be held on May 28th as indicated.
Matt Gerber will arrive on June 9th and will visit the club on June 28th.

From the floor…
Geoff Brentnall – RYLA. Matt Walker recently attended the RYLA Camp at Kangaroobie. The program is designed to develop leadership skills for 18-25 year old participants. Leadership, goal-setting, motivation, outdoor activities and concerts are just a few of the challenges.
Matt spoke to the club of his experience at the RYLA camp. He expressed thanks to the club for allowing him to attend and it was clear that this was a very rewarding experience for him. Matt spoke well before the members, and shared details of his experience meeting 40 unknown people, getting to know them through activities like – having the car break down on the way to the camp, enjoying an ‘open kitchen’, public speaking, low ropes, a movie, origami, group presentations, raft crossings, and developing communication, confidence, knowledge and using the SMART rule – Specific, measurable, action orientated, realistic, timed.

CPR Night at the Tennis club. The CPR Night was well attended by 20 members. This was a very successful night with some great lessons learnt from Kym. Those members who missed out are encouraged to participate in any future First Aid exercises in the future.
