- We intend to contact locations of ‘Defibs’ and follow up on maintenance checks.
- Members were advised that ‘anti theft’ screws for number plates are available free of charge from the Police station.

Other notes:
- Lions Club is celebrating 100 years. There will be an ‘Open House’ on Sunday 15th October on the ‘Hygea’ at 5pm from the Geelong Wharf. See John or book with the Lions Club.
- There will be a Community Forum at the Bowling Club on 11/10/17. Candidates nominating for the Council Elections will be in attendance.

- A focus group will be established to determine if there is a need in Ocean Grove to support those people who are involved in domestic violence. It is proposed that the activity may be similar to that established in Maryborough. (See Bulletin June 6th.)
- A visit to a project on water in Cambodia is being planned early next year. See John Calnin if interested.

Reports:

Publicity: Noel Emselle displayed a new banner.

Market: The new venue at the Ocean Grove Park (Ingermells Park) is being promoted as widely as possible.  A Roster was circulated and there are some vacancies. Bookings are coming in. (currently 65 are booked)

Art Show Sub Committee: Please return Raffle Books when completed.
Entries are coming in fairly well. At the meeting it was decided that more advertising was needed, as is more physical support from the main beneficiaries. Please note there will be no meeting on Tuesday 7/11/17 as attendance at the Art Show opening on Friday 3/11/17 will be the meeting replacement.

Footy Tipping: Continues for the Finals. Adrian Schmidt won this week.

Youth: Graham Bath Junior Community Awards are progressing with all students having been visited and are well on track to finish.

Vocational: - Visit to the Waltons Piggery on Sunday 12th November. Please see the recent email for details. Please note: The bus will only take 52 people plus driver. NO PUBLIC TRANSPORT CAN BE ALLOWED ON THE FARM. Please let your intentions known to Martin Geerings your intention re attendance. There are currently 40 people booked.

Social: Several events are planned including a visit to a drive in movie, progressive dinner and car rally.

There was no formal guest speaker available this week so we were entertained and educated about Bill Walton’s life as a farmer. We will see some of the real life results on our vocational visit in November.

Thank you, AG
