Health/Family of Rotary: Bob Osbourne is at Epworth Hospital and is on the mend from a stroke. Norm Elliott is improving.
Membership: There will be another membership drive in August. Contact Rod Bush or John Calnin if you have any likely prospects.
Social: John Calnin has circulated the list of proposed social activities for the next Rotary year. Please add the dates to your diary.
Community: Lists will be circulated next week for those who may be able to help with the gates at the Geelong District Football Finals.
Footy Tipping: Alex Magee has broken his form and won this week! Bill Walton and Geoff Ford are leading the competition.

Susan stressed the Community was planned for Independent Living not a Retirement Village. There are 30 similar communities with three more planned. It is proposed there will be 220 different homes in the community. Building commenced this year. The homes are one, two and three bedroom dwellings. A Clubhouse with recreational facilities including a library, workshop and a cinema will be built. A Community bus and a Fishing Boat will also be available as well as a wellness program.
The homes are available at 70 – 80% of the current price.
The purchaser owns the building and has a 99-year lease on the land. There is a weekly fee of $210 as well as a deferred management fee of 4% for four years. This fee is capped at 20% of the final sale price. The weekly fee covers the community managers, exterior maintenance and care of the front gardens. There are no Council or water rates but electricity is the owners’ responsibility. Owners are able to sell or will the dwelling (provided the requirements of the organization are met) Sub-letting is not allowed and refurbishment for sale is at owner’s expense. Pets are allowed and the facility will be gated. There are no body corporate services provided by the organization.
