Her direct phone number is 52792633.She will be home on day leave 18th Nov. and  a sleepover the following week, if all goes well discharge date is set for 26th Nov.
Annette Cullen: Note from Rod Greer.
After attending Annette's wonderful farewell last week I realize that I had some of the details of her life incorrect my sincere apologies to Peter and his family.
Those who attended will appreciate how rich a life she lived and how diverse was her contribution to her family and community.
Condolences to Jan and John Flett on their sad loss of their grandchild.
Bill Steains reminded us not to get too excited about "christmas beetles", having got a bad infection culminating with visits to the Doctor, Eye specialist and Hospital emergency services several times. He is currently on a six week "steroid push" to aid his recovery.
Community Development:  Bill Walton.  Attended to the Park last weekend,with everything coming up roses..
Youth:  Ann Hodgkinson Time to start thinking about RYLA Candidates in the age range of 18-25, living in or around our local community. Nominations due by February..( if you can think of someone please see Ann).
Car Raffle . Noell Emselle
Looking for volunteers to service some 40 locations, Fridays to Sundays.  2 - 3 hour shifts.
Our Computer Guru ( Apple that is) Rod Bush is holding an info session for actual or prospective Apple users at Gordon Kings house - 225 Thacker Str., Ocean Grove.
Date Wednesday November 9th. Times: 2pm-using iphones/ipods/ipads   
2.45pm- Computers..using iMacs & Macbooks. 3.30pm- General Internet/network questions.  4pm - Questions - Finish.
Please bring your own equipment (if you can). and perhaps some drinks and nibbles.
Our Speakers for the Evening:
Art Show -  Ian Downing 
Lots of things happening and it appears that the troops are well advanced and on top of the pre-organization side of things, the team has worked very hard and are to be congratulated for their efforts thus far.
Rotary stands to make 25% commission on any sales of Art Works sold at the show.
According to Ian "there is enough fat on the bird to ensure we will at least be in front.
There are about 360 entries at this point in time ( which is still a moving target).
Committee members presented progress reports,which included.
Dick Clay - Raffle tickets- Please let Dick know if your available to help with sales of tickets. Members who still have any unsold raffle books please  return these to Dick.
Some help will be needed to assist with manning our "hired" Eftpos machine.
Coral Barker - Sorting & Hanging of Art Works.
We have employed a couple of professional "Hangers".
Judges will deliberate on Thursday pm to award category prizes.

Art Show Agenda..
Thursday 27th October:- Display stands and lighting collected and set up.
Friday 28th October : am  - Artwork hung,  
                                       pm -        Judging of Art Works   ***8pm Formal Opening .
                                                      Prize winners and Finger Food Service 
Saturday and Sunday    29-30th  Show open 10am to 5pm with raffle ticket sales.
Monday                         31st.       Show open 10am to 4pm with raffle ticket sales.
                                                     Art Works collected between 4 - 6pm.
Tuesday                         1st Nov Dismantle and return stands .
President Margaret advised the members that John Flett has provided Media and Newspaper release information.Posters and Media information is currently being issued to local businesses.
Catering for the Opening will be handled by John Calnin and his "A" team, so we can be assured  that it will be a wonderful experience.
Dress code for the opening night (Oct 28th - is Tie and Semi Formal ). Proceedings to start at 8pm.
Ms Shirley Hurley has been invited to officially open our Art Show .

Bellarine Megaswim.  19-20th November (24 hours)Trevor McArdle.
Current situation:
8 Teams signed up at present.(still chasing some extra's).
Promotion of brochures around the town and other areas. Advertising board erected  outside swim centre. Have had a session on Pulse radio,they will continue to promote the event.
Divided jobs during the swim (24 hours) into 4 hour segments.
Front Desk.
Swimmer registration,swim kit and show bag etc.handout,receipt of donations,raffle ticket sales(if held).supervision of sleeping areas.
Pool Area.
Swim board lap update,supervision of pool area,background music, Microphone.
BBQ.
Set up and take down,cooking serving and sales gas & food replenishment.
4 hour segments relates to requiring 52 people..We may need to double up as well as having partners help out. IT WONT HAPPEN IF WE DONT TURN UP IN NUMBERS-Please make yourselves available..
We will have entertainment Stay tuned in for updates.
Opening and Closing ceremonies as well as Trophies etc are being arranged
Still chasing Sponsorship and donations.
BBQ  : Will require 3 bbq's looking at cooking Stir fry -Sausages etc .Need a coffee and Tea urn. and lots of help.
Geoff Brentnall: Looking for goodies for show bags and samples to provide for the participants. (Lions may be able to help).
There will be further lists calling for volunteers for both events going around at next weeks meeting.

A display of work that the Junior Community awardees have completed will be on display prior to and during next weeks Rotary meeting.
