President Timothy Kemp: What month is this? It is Rotary Foundation Month. The Rotary library and information cabinet is available each week for members to peruse the information. Please make use of this. Tim spoke to Graham Bath who is steadily getting better and hopes to see us soon.

Reports

Club Service, PE Helen Trigg: Brainstorming is required for a major fundraiser for the club. Please submit your thoughts and ideas in writing.
A newsletter will be developed in the centennial year and widely distributed to promote the Rotary Club to the community. This is an alternative to advertising.
Eddie Loughnan will visit the club on November 16th.
Alan Joyce advised that a fundraising opportunity exists at the Queenscliff Music Festival to provide storage for people’s bags and coats etc.

Community Service, John Wynn: Four volunteers required next Saturday to put globes in leads in preparation for the Christmas tree light project.
Following this, volunteers (names taken) are required on Sat 16th 6.30am put the lights up.
The ‘light-up’ event will be held on December 4th – many volunteers required on this day to man traffic barricades and sell raffle tickets and glow sticks.
Other projects are being planned. There is a 6-12 month lead-time for most activities involving council permits.
The Christmas tree has been surveyed and will be submitted to the Guinness Book of Records.
Please remember the Bloodarine Challenge continues so give blood generously.

Vocational Service, Geoff Brentnall (for Peter Cullen): The Pride of Workmanship Awards will go ahead after some delay, with three awards to be presented. Niki Dunn of the Ocean Grove Neighbourhood Centre, Nathan Lewis from a Queenscliff Marina and Leanne Kelly of Ocean Grove Primary School will receive awards at a suitable meeting.
John Calnin reports the Livewire project is being judged and Cathy Roth will attend the finals on November 29th.

International Service, Margaret Campbell: We have attempted to interest our sister club in friendly games of chess and golf without success.

Youth Service, Martin Geerings (for David Tyrrell): We have been able to support a family in financial need through funds for second hand school uniforms and books. This was deeply appreciated by the parents of the children concerned.
We have also provided funds for Police push bikes together with Lions and Barwon Coast. These will be commissioned around mid December. A ceremony and publicity to be arranged.

Market: The next market is THIS SUNDAY December 5th so check your rosters please.
Signe has volunteered to help out and will assist Geoff with Raffle Tickets.

Rotary information, John Fox: This month is Rotary Foundation Month. Recent figures indicate that the total budget of the Rotary Foundation is now 123 million (US). 700 GSE teams were active last year. The Rotary Foundation has contributed 700 mil to Polio eradication over 19 years.
