Bulletin for the meeting held at the Ocean Grove Golf Club on Tuesday December 7, 2004
Welcome, Chairman John Calnin. John extended a warm welcome to all the senior citizens in attendance as guests of the club.
President Timothy Kemp also extended a welcome to the guests and later thanked John Calnin, the members, musicians and the Golf Club for a very enjoyable evening.
The evening was a great success with more than 100 meals served. Members waited on tables throughout the evening. The raffle proved to be a popular attraction and everyone was ferried home safely.
Guests Jon, Henry and Jack Madin and friends entertained with guitar, marimbas, concert xylophone, squeezebox and piano accordion, double bass, saxophone, ukulele and drums. Jon’s skills in zany instrument making were put to the test as some willing volunteers also entertained guests with cardboard tubes and rubber gloves, producing handy single toned trumpet-type instruments! Jon’s Marimba Music Company has taken him to 8 countries, conducting interactive music sessions and building Marimbas.
Jack is the outgoing Rotary Youth Exchange Student and will go to Sweden next year.

December 21 – Partners Night (Christmas party including Santa) The Christmas Dinner will be held at The Clifton Springs Golf Club on Tuesday December 21st, 6.30 for 7.00pm – Partners night. $24 per head includes bon bons and table decorations, hors d’ourvres, medley of ham, roast turkey and pork, plum pudding with brandy custard or pavlova, tea, coffee, mints and mince pies!
Please book early as we need to guarantee a number of at least 80 to have the restaurant to ourselves.
