President TAG Kemp thanks the members for their response to the call to raise funds for the Tsunami Appeal. Trevor McArdle is coordinating the collections. From the Rotary International web page…

The death toll has risen to more than 100,000 in the dozen or more countries hit by the devastating tsunami that swept ashore from the Indian Ocean on 26 December. Rotarians around the world have responded to this tragedy with an outpouring of condolences and offers of support to the victims of the disaster.

"During this time of need, many Rotarians are calling Rotary International expressing their concern and asking how they can help," say RI President Glenn Estess Sr. and Rotary Foundation Trustee Chair Carlo Ravizza in a letter of condolence to district governors in countries affected by the tsunami.

"It is our hope that with your meaningful and rapid response to this appeal, you will be able to help rebuild the future for hundreds of thousands of innocent people impacted by this crisis," say the RI president and Rotary Foundation trustee chair.

The Ocean Grove Rotary Christmas Dinner Party was held at ‘The Springs’
on Tuesday December 21, 2004.

A well respected member of this club was recently told that he had “lost the plot”.

The Plot

‘He’s lost the plot,’ they say,
But it simply isn’t true;
You cannot lose the plot,
It’s stuck to you!

Nor can it be chucked out
Or thrown into a pit;
You can’t just dump the plot,
You’re stuck to it!

But you can soak the plot
And loosen it with tears
And slowly peel it back.
It could take years.

And you can lose your face
And you can lose a lot
And feel blessed when they say,
‘He’s lost the plot!’
