Bulletin Number 43

ROTARY CLUB OF OCEAN GROVE

Volume No. 22

Bulletin for the meeting held at the Ocean Grove Hotel on May 10, 2005

Welcome: President TAG Kemp.

President Kemp opened the meeting on a sad note, by announcing the death of Richard Barker (husband of Rtn Coral). Richard was a courageous gentleman with incredible inner strength and a good friend to many in the club. He will be sadly missed and President Kemp extended the sympathy of the club to Coral and family.

Matt Gerber will visit the club on May 28th.

Induction – Fred Andrews. Fred was introduced to the club by Rod Greer. A warm welcome was also extended to his wife Wilma.

Reports
Youth Service, David Tyrrell: David attended a meeting at Barwon Heads to discuss the Structure Plan for the Bellarine Peninsula. The meeting was attended by people who were mostly in their senior years. This does not give a true reflection of the community needs and it is our responsibility to encourage younger people to participate in these discussions.

From the floor… Geoff Ford – Geoff has made improvements to the name badge box. Please do not use the clips to secure your badges, just slid them in and they will remain secured.

PLEASE NOTE - Members who invite guests are required to ensure that they arrive BEFORE the guest on the night.

CPR NIGHT: The Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and E.A.R night will go ahead. This will be held on 25th May 7.00pm at the Ocean Grove Tennis Club Rooms. Kim Eden from National First Aid will run the course. There is still room for registrations – contact Wal Kelly.
