Meeting Report, Tuesday September 6, 2005
President Helen Trigg welcomed members and proposed a toast to the Queen and the people of Australia. David Tyrrell recited the invocation.
Visitors Graham and Chris Swinton, Jo Hawthorne, Bill and Marion were welcomed. Keith Fagg arrived later.
John Fox was welcomed back after a break, and Pres Helen reminded members that PE Richard Grimmett would be approaching members for board positions next year. Please consider how you can contribute to the club.
Conference – March next year. Let Tim Kemp know if you intend to go to the conference in Portland.
Names will be taken next week for the Queenscliff Charter Night. $40 per person, 7 for 7.30pm.
Five minute Vocational talk – Hans Franken: Hans spoke of the changes in his business.
Reports
Community Service, John Wynn. Thanks Virginia and Ken for the market emergency plan. The Defribulator (AED) project is proceeding. Wal Kelly and John Wynn met with Rural Ambulance Service Vic. RAS are supportive.
Youth, David Tyrell (for Martin Geerings) – Last Wednesday night Jan Howard attended the Rotary Club of Grovedale.
From the floor – John fox will take up the role of bulletin editor. Forms are being distributed – please, if you do not want certain information published – do not put this information on the form. Members who are currently receiving the bulletin by email will continue to do so.
Market – The first market will be held on October 2nd. Roster next week.
Cruis'n the Kimberley - John Webb and Graham Swinton. John, Pru, Graham and Chris along with 9 others guests, 4 crew, 1 cook and 2 deckies took a 13 day cruise from Broome to Wyndham on a 72' single hull aluminium cruiser. Walking, climbing, swimming and fishing. The Kimberley Escape - Great Escape Company took the group around the secluded coastal areas of the 42,500 sq klm Kimberley region. A wonderful experience and John and Graham shared stories and spectacular photographs of the trip.
