An observation from PP Gerry Spencer.

When told that Richard Grimmett would follow Helen Trigg as President, Gerry observed that two successive undertakers in office may cause a lot of coffin. A bit out of character for Gerry ?

Student Exchange

My attempt to get comments from members on this question was a failure. I believe members have views, but are not prepared to disclose them, [at least, not to me]. My thanks to John Calnin and Bob Osbourne, the only respondees. Bob referred to our advancing years, being out of touch with teenagers and spiralling costs for everyone involved. Perhaps the concept is OK, but the duration is too long.

Humpin’ ‘n drillin’ ‘n hammerin’ ‘n screwin’ ‘n levellin’ ‘n diggin’ ‘n nailin’ ‘n all that stuff.

That’s what John Wynn, John Calnin, Fred Andrews, Colin Brown, Steve Gubbins, Geoff Chandler, Tim Kemp, Peter Hawthorne and John Fox did at the new Barwon Heads lookout last Saturday afternoon under the direction of Barwon Coast’s Warren Chapman. A very good working bee. It is not yet finished, but another WB will shortly be called by John Wynn.

The Davidsons Experience. [A vocational Service Night]

This was a great night for our 57, catered for by their 14 apprentice chefs. Circa 1887, but remodelled as a restaurant in 1978, it is a training facility for students engaged in hospitality and cookery. $23.50 per person for three courses was fantastic value, but in all fairness, no labour costs.
