A letter from Canada, [Which proves that I have at least one reader]
Readers of bulletin no.37, may recall that I sent greetings to Jan Howard, Keith Nixon and Robin Stevens, inviting them to respond.
Well, I got the following prompt reply from Keith, dated Friday, 24th March.
‘Hi, John:
We received a letter from Ron Smith, Chairman, Rotary Australia World Community Service acknowledging the RC of Southampton’s contribution to Ocean Grove’s project in Yanuca.
I read the letter out at last evening’s meeting and it was well received.
We still want to pursue a Friendship Exchange between our two clubs and, while it may be a little late, our club is still interested in hosting a group this July or August in Southampton. I can provide more details on the area to any who are interested. If that doesn’t work, a number of us would like to visit in 2007 and host a group in Southampton in our summer of 2007.
Hope this is of interest! Cheers Keith’

Now then, if any of you would like to contact Keith direct, you can do so on Keithisaway@yahoo.ca, or, I am happy to be the co-ordinator for any of us interested in developing this fantastic idea. Contact me and I will keep Keith informed.
Southampton is located on the Eastern shores of Lake Huron in Ontario, Ca. at 44-29 North, 81-23 West, 170 km NW of Toronto, 300 km NNE from Detroit, and 250 km NW of Niagara Falls.
Other nearby towns or cities include London, Stratford, Cambridge, Waterloo, Kitchener, Paris, Exeter, Zurich, and [wait for it!] Collingwood.
If you could picture yourself 44-29 South Latitude, you could be in New Zealand, halfway between Christchurch and Dunedin, but well south of any point in Australia.

I have one seat in the front row of the new Eastern Stand at Skilled Stadium for the first AFL match against Brisbane Lions on Saturday 1st April, which I cannot use. Free to the first applicant!
