Guest Speaker: Gwen Carbone. "Insider Secrets, get motivated to stay motivated. The best of health and fitness."
Gwen was a policewoman and became very interested in Occupational Health and Safety.
She has started her own company for over 40's, GwenTek Fitness.
Obesity and physical inactivity contribute to ill health and premature death. 10 minutes of structured exercise per day can reduce health risks.

Change requires:
  • Sense of discontent
  • Self motivation
  • Vision for a better future
  • Skills and knowledge
  • Continuous and deliberate action.
Goals must be set:
S - Specific
M - Measurable
A - Attractive/Achievable
R - Realistic
T - Time frame with a start and review date.
Tips for success:
-       Start small.
-       Have written goals and action plan
-       Make the plan part of daily activity
-       Get someone involved and gain support
-       Recognize triggers when lapses occur.
Gwen showed us equipment used for strengthening the body and demonstrated the various ways to use it so the whole body is exercised.
