Guest Speakers: Briony Darcy and Leon Eyck.
Briony and Leon have an Architectural practice at 83 The Parade, Ocean Grove. The team has grown to 9 people being involved with renovations and new builds across the peninsular and some work in the high country. The firm wrote the guidelines for the Oakdene Estate that involves assessment of every design submitted. They are involved in various sporting activities and clubs.
Leon is involved in Rural Zoning and has prepared a Case study to this effect. He asks the question, 'What is the purpose of rural zoned land?'
There must be a well planned Farming Zone, Living Zone and Low Density Zone. He is aware that there is conflict between the three zones and he has developed guidelines to prevent this from occurring. Each development must ensure that non-agricultural uses, particularly dwellings do not affect the use of land for agriculture. Heritage and natural resources must be considered and included and where there is no reticulated water, developments must be self-sufficient. Both speakers illustrated their presentations with pictures and plans.
Briony and Leon have donated $200 to the Shelter Box appeal. Thank you from the Club.
Margaret Campbell was the note taker this week. Thank you as well.
Please note it is essential that apologies be recorded by 12noon on Mondays.
Also the Club has to pay for members who have not apologized and not turned up!
Phone number is 0457 315 900. Thank You.
A Reminder… I would be very grateful if a hard copy of reports could be given to me at the meeting… My task would be made easier!
