Report: Meeting 26/5/2015.
Guest Speaker, John Barrett, Chairman of the Queenscliff Maritime Museum started as a volunteer in in 2009 when he sold his boat building business in Geelong and retired to Queenscliff. He has been actively involved in getting accreditation for the Museum, which was finally achieved in December 2012 following a Government Grant of $80,000 that went to decluttering, cataloguing of all items in storage and removing all items that did not have a direct association with the area. Over 40 volunteers help to run the Museum, working in the shop, on ground maintenance, cataloguing and taking guided tours of the Museum and local lighthouses. His presentation also took us on a visual tour of the Maritime Museum and surrounding buildings.
Approximately 12,000 visitors come through the museum each year. The old Fisherman's Co- Op building's future is in limbo but currently the Queenscliff Music Festival Committee has put forward a proposal of joint use for the Museum's Board to consider.
Thanks to John Paton for the notes.

Please note it is essential that apologies be recorded by 12noon on Mondays. Also the Club has to pay for members who have not apologized and not turned up!
Phone number is 0457 315 900. Thank You.

A Reminder… I would be very grateful if a hard copy of reports could be given to me … my task would be made easier!
