Report of meeting: 7/7/2015
President:
- DG Elect, Jane Cox will pay us her official visit on 8th September.
- The 2nd Tuesday of next month and then the following 1st Tuesday of each month will be a meeting without a meal as an experiment to be assessed after a trial.
- Board Meetings will be on the 3rd Tuesday of each month starting on the 21st July.
- David Tyrrell has decided to resign due to work pressures but would like to remain OH&S Officer.
- Graeme Allchin has a course in Melbourne on Tuesday nights and has asked for leave of absence until it is finished.
- Service Committees need to put together a program and budget for consideration by the Board. Pass this information on to Ann Hodgkinson as Service Director ASAP.
Secretary Report: Bellarine "Relay for Life" to be held on 7th & 8th November Club members need to consider whether we want to field a team. Tony Haines has more information or phone Heather Grant 0400 402 561.
View Club is willing to work with us on projects but would not run things. Thus if the Photographic Exhibition is pursued our club will need to take the lead role.
International: Solmaid School has been informed that the Club will sponsor the food and children again this year. The first quarterly payment has been made. The school is very appreciative of our help.
Market: Good market on last weekend with 45 stalls. It raised $830 for shelter box and $230 from the Raffle. 35 stalls have booked for next month.
N.B. A new organizer will be needed for future Summer Markets!! So please step up if you can take on this very important task.
Foundation: Judy Greer has plenty of boxes for your Foundation donations again this year…$2.00 per week.
Footy Tipping: Alex Magee reported that Geoff Chandler leads the Footy Tipping.
Social: There will be a social night for the Art Show on 4th August. There will be a wine and cheese tasting followed by a meal to launch this year's show. Guests and speakers will be invited. PUT IT IN YOUR DIARY.
Community: Lookout Roster has been completed including one friend of Rotary. See website for dates.
- Football finals gate duty will be needed at the St Albans Football ground on 22/23 and 29/30 August and 5th and 12th September. Peter will organize this.
Parkinson's Disease Fundraiser: Richard Grimmett played a video to promote 'Light of Day Winter' Gigs, a program to help raise funds for Parkinson's programs. It will be on 24th& 25th July at the Piping Hot Chicken Shop, the Olive Pit and Driftwood Café. Basically you buy a ticket for one of these venues and the performers will rotate around all three. Costs are $50 each venue on Friday night. The same on Saturday except the Chicken Shop will be $75. Headline act will be Anthony D'Amato, but lots of other musicians are participating.

Assembly Reports:
YOUTH: Geoff Chandler. Youth Committee will continue with last year's programs; Roy Rose Awards, VCE Support, Graham Bath Junior Leadership Awards, Rotary Youth Exchange, National Youth Science Forum, RYPEN, RYLA, Science Experience. Also attempt to pursue VCE Alumni Dinner and Website update.
INTERNATIONAL; Dick Clay. The Solemaid School will continue to have support, donations to ROMAC etc., Shelter Box. Also looking for a new project in a neighbouring country to support.
COMMUNITY: John Wynn. Water feature project needs finalizing, Lookout Reserve maintenance to continue hopefully with new signage. Attempt one project at each of the primary schools. Seniors' Dinner and ANZAC Breakfast to continue
Recycled batteries project needs improving.
Unsuccessful projects to be reviewed
VOCATIONAL: Geoff Brentnall. Previous programs will be continued. Gordon scholarship program may be broadened to include other areas such as wine making, tourism, and carers. The Marine Discovery Centre will be considered.
