Guest Speakers: Bill Steins and John Calnin.
With a mate John and Bill travelled by light plane to follow John's Great Grandmother's walk from Portland to Burra, trundling a wheelbarrow! (They encountered the worst beer they have ever tasted, but the red wine was a little better.) John highlighted the industry aspects of the trip while Bill made us aware of the condition of the land and the stock. From Burra they travelled to Claire, where surprise, surprise the red wine was sampled. Ceduna was next where oysters were sampled, as was more red wine. Port Lincoln appeared to be a highlight where enormous wealth gained from Tuna fishing was evident. More oysters and red wine were consumed. They then travelled to Narracourt with a side trip to Penola (where some time was spent communing with Saint Mary McKillop. I wonder why?) They Island hopped on the way home. It appears they thoroughly enjoyed their trip and hope to repeat the experience another time.
