Youth: Two students for the RYPEN weekend have shown interest.
The Club will continue to support an outgoing student for Youth Exchange, however thought should be given to hosting an incoming student. It is proposed that "outside" host families would be considered, but a very diligent club member would be required as a councilor for the arrangement. The role would require a fair amount of time to make this work effectively. Please see Geoff Chandler if interested.
The Star of the Sea and Surfside Primary Schools will have an information session about the Junior Community Awards on Wednesday and the session will be repeated at Ocean Grove Primary School on Monday.
Footy Tipping: This very important competition is on again soon. (See Alex if interested with your $50).

Guest Speaker: Chinese New Year Celebrations.
Eng Ho described many very funny events he experienced in his childhood in Malaysia. He also showed a very informative video about customs in his world. His wife, Marciella and baby Rey joined us for the meal, as did seven other members of the Chinese community. They are all in business in Ocean Grove and it was good to welcome them to the event. The Dining Area was decorated with red and gold symbols of the Monkey and other features. The Head Chef (Jason) at the Bowling Club presented a very lavish meal/banquet that was thoroughly enjoyed by most of those present. Thanks were extended to the staff at the Bowling Club who ensured the evening was a success, and the members of the International Committee who made the room so festive. Thanks also to Dick Clay for his enthusiasm in planning and coordinating the celebrations.
Please note it is essential that apologies be recorded by 12noon on Mondays.
Also the Club has to pay for members who have not apologized and not turned up!
In future all members who have not apologized will be sent an invoice.
Phone number is 0457 315 900. Thank You. AG
