The talk was illustrated with some excellent photos of highlights of the trip. They started at St. Bees on the Irish Sea and finished at Robin Hood's Bay on the North Sea, passing through the Lakes District, Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors. Phil thanked the Rotary Club of Ocean Grove for their donation to the cause and also individual members who donated.

The trip started in rain and wind, which reoccurred throughout the trip although the weather occasionally improved, it being summer in England at the time. The Lakes District section included some steep, rough hill climbs, although there was easier walking in Yorkshire but still fog and rain on several days. They arrived in Keld on Day 10, which was halfway through the walk. On Day 15, they arrived at Ingelby Cross in rain again. This was the end of the Dales and start of the Moors. It was a steep climb up from the Dales but then a flat track across the Moors. On Day 18 they took a detour to Whitby on a steam train, which was where Dave McGahey was born and visited the James Cook Museum. Day 19, the last day, they arrived at Robin Hood's Bay. The trip involved a total of 370 kilometres and raised $26,000 for Soldier On. After the walk, they went to Venice for a cruise to Istanbul, which also visited Gallipoli where they were able to lay a reeve at the Lone Pine Memorial.
Next Week is the Variety Concert. There will be no raffle.
Welcome:
