Report of Meeting: 7/3/2017

President:
******There will be no meeting on ANZAC Day. ******

Board Report:
- A donation to DIK to assist with container shipping costs was approved.
- The next Bunnings' BBQ will be on Sunday 21st May.
- 27 Youth Volunteer Information and Declaration Forms have been completed and a register will be set up. There will a Child Safe Standards Document developed. The two examples of such a document need to be returned to Fred please.

- March Market – see below. Thanks to Graeme and Sandie for organization and management of it.
- 90 participants took part in the Disabled Surfers event on Sunday 5th March. Thanks to the Rotary team who ran the BBQ.
- There will be a combined Board Meeting on May 2nd for outgoing and incoming directors.
- A proposal for a trip to Japan was presented.
- Honorary Membership was approved for John Fox. He has been a member of Rotary for 59 years.

Publicity: DISTRICT CONFERENCE "BE BOLD" 31March – 1/2April will be held at the Barrabool Hills Centre and Saturday night dinner at the South Barwon Civic Centre with the theme of James Bond. Please check the District Website for all info relating to this important event. Registration forms are also available from the Website.

Fundraising: - 'Ride the Bellarine' for Polio Plus is being planned. See John Paton if you can help and confirm if you want the same Marshaling places as last year.

Market: The Gold Coin collection raised $535.30 for the 13th Beach SLSC, Stall Holders fees were $722, BBQ raised $ 170 and the Raffle $150 which will be donated to Autism research on behalf of Tiffany.

Health: Peter Hawthorne has had surgery. Rehab is proceeding. He was well enough to work at the Market on 5th March.
- Gerry Spencer is still receiving treatment in St John of God and would welcome a chat.  Even a 10 minute drop in would be very much appreciated.  It's a pretty solitary environment in hospital and Gerry would love some company. !

Youth: Tiffany helped at the Market again. She was a dab hand at Cornball too !

Vocational visit to Oakdene Estate:             
A wonderful night at Oakdene Estate
The evening commenced with a complimentary wine tasting and information session.
42 Members and Partners moved to the Restaurant where a most enjoyable two-course meal was partaken. It appeared that most people enjoyed the visit very much and many thanks were extended to Martin Geerings for organization of the outing.
