- Conference Report: There were 360 attendees at the Conference. Those who attended from Ocean Grove reported that the event was good with an emphasis on younger members and simpler, more modern ways of doing things. The dinner with an emphasis themed around James Bond movies was fun as were the costumes invented by many members. There was a ‘hands on’ activity for Geelong Mums on Sunday morning. This was well attended and a rewarding experience. There are many photos on the District website.
The Conference next year will be held in Mount Gambier from 6 -8th April. The preliminary program looks interesting so a weekend in South Australia may be in the Diary.
******There will be no meeting on ANZAC Day. ******
- The next Bunnings’ BBQ will be on Sunday 21st May.
- There will be a combined Board Meeting on May 2nd for outgoing and incoming directors.
- There will be a Disaster Aide Conference on 5 – 7 May. See Judy or Fred if interested.

Guest Speaker: Noel Emselle.
Noel spoke about Coast Care Earth Day with particular emphasis on the pollution of the seas, mostly through the dumping of plastic. Education of the public is the main strategy planned by the COGG.
The 1st place where a survey determining litter on the beach at Ocean Grove will be done on 22nd April. It is also hoped that the use of plastic bags will be phased out in the near future.
Noel also spoke about the Conoco-Phillips Science Experience. Local organizations arrange 3-4 day activities for senior students. Information is available on the Conoco website. It is most important that Clubs raise awareness about the more than 35 programs each year as science students can be sponsored by Rotary Clubs to attend the workshops and lectures.
Thank you.
