A. Hodgkinson: We will have a visit from the City of Greater Geelong Administrator speaking on the Lookout Reserve and other projects.
Community: Noel Emselle reminded us of a re-planting of the Lookout Reserve on Sept 10. Vocational: Visit to Driftwood Cafe' to be held on Sept 12.
Footy Tipping: Gil Morgan is leading from Geoff Ford & Bill Walton.
Footy Gates: Requires more people to fill the roster.
Farewell to Tiffany
A presentation was made to Tiffany who is on her way home after being with us from Oct 1, 2016 to Aug 23, 2017. Tiffany thanked all the people who hosted her and the Rotary Clubs of Ocean Grove & Drysdale
Guest Speaker: Andy Butler
Andy spoke to us about Parkinson's Disease and how it affected his life after his father contracted the disease. Tremors can be anywhere on the body however like our Richard you learn to adapt. As yet there is no cure for the disease, however research is showing some progress.
Andy has been to all the continents bar one to spread the word about Parkinson's. A drug developed 51 years ago is still being used today.
There are three treatments being used, Drugs, deep Brain Stimulation and a pump on the stomach which releases the drug when required.
