Welcome from President TAG Kemp. Special welcome to Alana Sharrock & her mother Debbie, Susan Baillieu (Echo), visiting Rotarians Peter Reinbach and Richard Trigg, Bob Stewart (Southern Peninsula Rescue) and guest Bob Smith.

Next week is Club Assembly. (The meeting will be held in the large room. Please sit at your committee table).
Remember the Rotary Conference is coming up. Forms are still available for late bookings. Rotary shirts will be ordered when we can get 10 orders so let the president know if you would like one.

The official handover of the police push bikes that were provided by Rotary, Barwon Coast and Lions will be held on Friday at 2.00pm.

Alana Sharrock is the winner of the Know Your Trader competition, held prior to Christmas. Alana was thanked by President Kemp and congratulated for her efforts.

Organ donor forms are available on each table. Please take some with you and give them out. Bill Penna will require assistance at a table to distribute forms at the shopping center.

Guest Speaker, Bob Stewart, Southern Peninsula Rescue Squad.

The Southern Peninsula Rescue Squad is a volunteer emergency service located at
Hotham Rd, Sorrento. The formation of the Southern Peninsula Rescue Squad was prompted by the disappearance of the then Prime Minister Harold Holt from Cheviot Beach, Portsea.

The Southern Peninsula Rescue Squad covers a wide area extending from approx, Apollo Bay to Wilson's Promontory, however its main area of operation is the Mornington Peninsula, Port Phillip Bay and the Ocean Beaches of the Mornington Peninsula.The role of the organisation is to provide support to any person or organisation that requires assistance in often life - threatening situations.

The Southern Peninsula Rescue Squad operates a Bell Longranger Helicopter, which has been equipped with the most up-to-date search and rescue equipment available for a helicopter of its size.It is fitted with a cargo hook, rescue winch, high intensity search light, patient stretcher, oxygen resuscitation equipment and radio equipment which allows communications with Police, Ambulance, Fire Brigade, Surf Life Savers as well as other emergency services.

The Southern Peninsula Rescue Squad also operates several boats that are utilised for rescue work as well as assisting broken down vessels. In addition to this, the Southern Peninsula Rescue Squad operates a Communications Bus, which enables searches/ rescues to be coordinated from the scene. All equipment is owned outright by the Southern Peninsula Rescue Squad on behalf of the community. No charges are made to anybody or any organisation that is assisted. All funding is solely from public donations.
