Editor QUITS

Long time bulletin editor John Fox has resigned citing health reasons. In an email to the distrbution list at 5:20 pm today, Foxy explained his reason for the decision.
Bulletin 27/02 was my last. Probably, my last ever, but certainly the last for at least a year. It has become a commitment of at least two hours every week for the last four years, entirely self-inflicted, I freely admit, but I think my style has become stale, and certainly, I have.
I have felt for some time that it is time to go, and my decision has been hastened by a recent bout of ill-health, nothing life-threatening, but an onset of high blood pressure, which I am determined to overcome.
With that in view, I have walked away from just about all my non-professional activities – the MSO committee, the Rotary bulletin, and my mentorship programme. I am taking a minimum of three months leave of absence, even from attending Rotary. After 51 years of continuous active service, I didn’t think I would ever do that, but I am going to prove that no-one is indispensable.
I will maintain my e-mail and postage list of members in the expectation that another member will take on the bulletin, but logically, because they are  my personal contacts, all non-members will disappear from the list.

I take this opportunity of thanking, most sincerely, those very good and faithful friends who have kept me supplied with newsy and humerus copy for a long time. I have a very large supply of unused material.

Thank you all and goodbye.
