• Forthcoming Events: Include the weekend’s Market; this year’s Raffle Ticket sales (will our biggest fund-raiser for year 09/10 be the Market or the Raffle?); forthcoming Surfside and Lookout Reserve working-bees; Next Saturday 10 October Community Expo at the Ocean Grove Uniting Church (let Richard Grimmett know if you can help); 30 October Neighbourhood Centre AGM.
• Guest Speakers: Last week’s speaker former Federal Parliamentarian Neil O’Keefe gave us a rare opportunity to revisit dispassionately the major political events and personalities of the latter part of the 20th century seen from an insider’s perspective.
• 20 October - Pride of Workmanship Awards: This will be a Partners’ Night. Please make the necessary bookings as soon as possible.
• 22 November - ‘Rod’s Run For Rotary Foundation: $10 for three guesses of his finish and predicted times. Rod says he expects to take longer than an hour. If he could do it in an hour or less he’d be a long-shot bet for the Melbourne Cup.

Our effectiveness as Rotarians depends on our hands-on appreciation of Rotary’s ways - and of each other’s personal and vocational qualities. So far we have had three excellent Service Project reviews in the Bulletin. There will be more in the months ahead.
