- John Paton -Winter Market on Sunday 1st July unfortunately clashes with the change-over luncheon for DGE Helen Trigg so those wanting to go should see John to arrange market duties which do not clash.
- Ann Geerings is organizing an outing to Inverleigh on 13th July. Morning tea will be at the Red Door Café and Lunch will be at The Inverleigh Hotel. Bring your walking shoes as the entertainment will be a walk around the town and viewing the lovely countryside. The departure time is 9.30 a.m. Please let Ann Magee know if you are attending.
- Mega Swim. Training is going well, encouraging onlookers are always welcome.
- Art Show. Website will be up soon and entry forms are ready to go out. Sponsorship remains difficult so the sponsors will be given the chance to put advertising material into ‘show bags’. The committee has been able to borrow the Cottage by the Sea bus which will be used to meet the ferry and take visitors to the show.
- Conference 2013.  The committee continues to beaver on… mostly tying up details at present. Davidson’s Restaurant will cater for the food during the day. The COGG will help defray some of the costs, especially the reception and perhaps printing.
- Geoff Brentnall and Geoff Ford were thanked for their help at the Football Match.
****** Please remember to avail yourselves of the tea and coffee provided during the evening, preferably before the guest speaker commences.*****

In July 2011 Ian Russell spoke about the need to upgrade the defibrillator used by the Ambulance Service on the Bellarine Peninsular. The Club decided to adopt this need as a project and committed $9000.00 towards the purchase of a new device with all the modern bells and whistles which were considered appropriate. The remainder of the funds needed was provided by Ocean Grove Community Enterprise, $3,000 and The Ambulance Service $2500-3,000. The Ambulance Service has progressed from a part time out service to a full time professional station on the Bellarine.
The upgrade involves the ability to monitor heart rate, blood pressure, and heart muscle status from multiple aspects and to transmit this information via phone lines to a hospital cardiac unit. The patient once stabilized can then be taken straight through to the specific treatment area. The main aim is to provide timely treatment and to prevent further damage to cardiac muscle. Intubation is also facilitated. One club member who acted as a ‘dummy’ was found to have a rapid pulse, high blood pressure and excellent Oxygen saturation of his blood. He blamed nervousness at having to stand up in front of the Club members. Work for the Ambulance Station has increased markedly in the last ten years so the purchase of the defibrillator has indeed been timely. Danny presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the Club for our effort in raising the necessary money.
- Note to members – Apologies must be in by 11a.m. on MONDAY! Notification later than this is of no use. Co-operation with this would be appreciated.
