Eng Ho. "How My Business Grew." Eng bought the family owned Laundry business commenced in 2000 in 2012. His customers range from Melbourne to Lorne and include linen hire, dry cleaning in the areas of hospitality, medical needs and food and beverages. The aim of the company is to provide clean linen all year. It is picked up and delivered and the staff is available to help in person, on line and on the phone. They aim to be environmentally friendly.
Performance Statistics, 1.2 million Kg of linen is processed yearly. The highest performance month is in January and the lowest is in May when 52 Kg is processed. In a busy month 250 tonnes is processed. . Infrastructure has been improved. The business has two trucks and one van. Racking is used during the winter months for unneeded linen. An exhaust fan is used for cooling and clearance of lint. There are seven dryers, three washing machines and one ironer. Linen is replaced regularly costing $550,000 over the last three years. Used linen is sold as rags. Marquees have been employed to provide extra space. Eng believes they have improved systems management, selected and nurtured the team members, up to date on line presence with the web site, informative advertising and credit card facilities.
They have purchased the Bay City Laundry in Geelong and although there is a new customer base operations will continue in Geelong. Simple, efficient systems are being investigated and if time and money is saved they are introduced. The business may move into Uniform Hiring and more efficient trolley and tracking systems. Eng certainly appears to have been busy during the last three years. Well done.
Please note it is essential that apologies be recorded by 12noon on Mondays. Also the Club has to pay for members who have not apologized and not turned up! Phone number is: 0457 315 900. Thank You.
