Guest Speakers:  New members, Pearl Macmillan and Lyn Carlson.
Pearl Macmillan was born in Northern Ireland but grew up in Scotland. She came to Australia in 2015 to be closer to her daughter. She has a son in Amsterdam.
Pearl was a Domestic Science Teacher and taught for 3 years in Scotland. She then went to Malawi where she taught Nutrition and Hygiene to mothers and children. After 2 years in Africa she returned home and married. With the support of the Scottish Government Pearl became deeply involved in a program to help children eat more nutritionally. She was the 'Jamie Oliver" of Dumbarton. All staff and parents were involved and menus were planned which were beneficial. The students paid for their meals and eating them became a social event. The school routine had to be changed to accommodate this longer meal time but the out come has resulted in much better nutrition and therefore better health for the children and as a spin off for their families. The program continues and Pearl is pleased to see a similar program is being conducted in Australia.
Pearl is happy to be in Australia especially as she has her own car and will soon move into her own home.  Welcome to Australia and RI Ocean Grove.

Lynn Carlson
Lynn has 2 children, a daughter with one child and a son with 2 children. Her son is President Elect of the RC of Grovedale. Before becoming involved in the travel industry she worked in the fashion industry. Lynn has been in travel since 1992, and works in the franchise of 'Hello World,' which is very busy and expanding into New Zealand. There is eight staff at the Waurn Ponds business one of which is Nicolle Rappell.
Nicolle has two children. Has been involved in the travel industry since 1993. She worked in London for 9 years. She returned to Australia in 2011. Like Lynn she has travelled extensively and believe they can accommodate most requests.
Lynn and Nicolle are able to organize trips with home visits for more relaxed planning, especially if time is short. They also specialize in planning travel for people with disability. Welcome to RC of Ocean Grove and the prospects of further travel from members.
