President's Report –
Next week will be the Restaurant Theme night. Unfortunately, several participants have pulled out due to 'business' reasons. Blue Mountain and the Groove café will present. Thus, it will be a normal meeting format with these restaurants being the guest speakers. Partners are very welcome, but please book them in.
MegaSwim is being organised by Trevor McArdle. We need nominees for a Rotary Club Team. There is also a walking lane, which can be used if preferred.
A new market phone has been located which should be more effective.
Rotary Club of Camperdown is collecting old hearing aids, which can be refurbished. If you have any, give them to Judy Greer.
The President thanked Service Committee Chairs for developing their plans and budgets, which indicate we have a big year coming.
Rotary Dues are due, $200, and can do a half yearly payment.
Noel Emselle, Treasurer, thanked those who had already paid their dues and indicated that they can be paid by direct debit, cheque or cash.
Geoff Chandler, Youth, said that the Youth Exchange hosting of Tiffany from Taiwan was on track and she was expected to arrive on 30 July subject to her visa coming through on time. On 13 September, a joint meeting will be held with Drysdale, hoping Tiffany can do her presentation at that time.
Youth Committee to meet at 5.30 pm next Tuesday prior to Rotary meeting
Gerry Spencer, Foundation, indicated that the Centurion Collection was underway, with more people encouraged to join.
Martin Geerings, Vocational, asked anyone with nominations for the Pride of Workmanship Award to contact him.

Bob Judge had a stroke 8 years ago. He is now 60. He lives in Ocean Grove. His wife is his full time career, who looks after him at home. He volunteers to tell people about a volunteer program run for post graduate students at Deakin University, Waurn Ponds campus. He is seeking donations of members' time. Brochures have been distributed outlining the Volunteer Patient Program, which seeks to train student doctors in 'bedside manners'. Being a volunteer patient gives students an opportunity to learn human communication skills, or how to talk to patients, so improving the quality of the graduate doctors.
Involvement only requires one or two days a year. Once registered, the University will contact you to make a convenient time. It provides parking for the day. There is always a lecturer in attendance at the session. You get a certificate of appreciation after the session. Phone 5227 1001 to register your interest.
There are currently 53 people on their books. The session involves you role-playing a patient visiting a doctor for the first time. The student attempts to get your medical history, information on medications used, etc. Older year students may also do a physical examination.
Thank you,
Ann Hodgkinson
