President: Michael Harbour was presented with a cheque for $440.45 – the funds from the gold coin collection at a market.
-Nominations are needed for the Board positions, as the AGM will be held on 15th November.
- The local Legacy group is not as active as in previous years so please let the RSL know if anyone needs help.
RI Highton are running an Open Garden event on 27/11/2016.
International: Projects involving the Solmaid School, Shelter Box, Romac and the Cambodian water project are progressing.
Community: The permits for the Bicycle shed are on hold at present.
Foundation: Centurian donation boxes are available from Gerry Spencer. The Club's celebration for the 100th Anniversary will be on 8th November.
Fundraising: Volunteers are needed for the BBQ at Bunnings in Leopold on Melbourne Cup Day.

Market: Some changes will be made to the running of the market. These will be explained to members at a later date.
Health: David Parkin on Prostate Cancer at the Uniting Church will give a talk on November 5th. Tickets are available from Rod Greer. Members and partners are encouraged to attend.
Vocational: - A talk on "What's new in Pharmacy" will be the topic for 15/11/2016.
- A visit to Oakdene is proposed for late March 2017. The cost will be $35.00 including a free wine tasting.
- A visit to the new Epworth Hospital is proposed in February 2017.
- Future activities were outlined. These will be presented when more information is available.
· Opening night is Friday 28/10/16 at the Point Lonsdale Primary School Hall. The Board has agreed that this will be our meeting night instead of 1/11/16.
· Members and partners will be guests of Rotary so please remember to make a note in your diaries and support the event. Apologies as usual.
· Money and butts from Raffle Books are to be returned to Geoff Brentnall. ASAP.
· Thank you to all who have volunteered to help.
Social: - The seniors Christmas Party will be held on 6t December.
- The Club Christmas Dinner will be held on 13/12/2016. A 50's/60's theme is proposed.
Guest Speakers: Selected students from the three primary Schools gave a brief account of all the activities they were involved in to complete the Graham Bath Junior Community Awards.
Surfside Primary School – Returned ANZAC services attendance, aged care facility visiting, dancing and calisthenics, attendance at GPAC theatre, various religious services, cooking, surfing, music, Toy Library and a visit to Bali.
Star Of The Sea Primary School – Auskick, Boorai Centre, cleaning, fashion show, worked with and rode horses, tennis attendance at a council meeting and conversations with people from India.
Ocean Grove Primary School – Music lessons, Soccer, mixed religion discussion, juggling and circus skills, attendance at the Moomba Festival, coaching children at tennis, knitting, a visit to the Marilyn Monroe exhibition, trivia fund raising and sewing.
(The activities above were often repeated throughout each of the schools.)
The students felt that participation in the program has given them a boost in confidence and a wider exposure to other experiences and people's cultural and religious practices and beliefs.
The program has been going for 20 years. Ocean Grove Rotary has been involved for 18 years. Tony Haines has been involved all of this time. An Award was presented to him.
