Arch C Klumph whose mantra was to do good in the world, commenced the charity in Atlanta. The first donation was $26. The aim this year is to raise $300 million.
The foundation is a separate entity from Rotary International and until the 1980's the main aim was focused on education.
The mission is to Advance World Understanding, Goodwill and Peace through improvement of health, education and human understanding.
The Foundation is changing to meet the changing world environment through the allocation of scholarships: e.g. Fellowships, Ambassadorial Scholars, Technical training, University teachers, Concentrated language encounters, Institutions for International Understanding.
In 1979 it was decided to try to eradicate Polio in the Philippines through the Polio Plus program. In 1985 the World - wide program was launched after the success in the Philippines, this program is the largest project in human history during peacetime.
At Club level funds from the Foundation can be accessed through District Grants. We are currently involved in the Cambodian Water Wells Project and $70,000 has been raised in our district.
Funds can be given to the Foundation by becoming a Centurian (Au$100) yearly, Sustaining member, (US$1000)

Thank you,
