Report of Meeting: 27/6/2017

Visitors: Gaye & DG Stephen Lamont, ADG Group 9 Kathy Ryan, Rod Stewart & Kevin Carey RC of Queenscliff, Monica Davis OG Probus, PP Sue Van Every RC of Drysdale, Tiffany Shah Thailand Exchange Student, Maureen & Bill Guy, Jenny & John Shanahan, guests of John and Nan Calnin.

ADG Kathy Ryan proposed the toast to the Club and to Rotary International.

Annual Report:
President Judy presented some highlights of the Annual Report and thanked the Board for their support, assistance and hard work. She also thanked Noel, Fred, Vic Norm and sergeants Coral, Rod Greer and Hans Franken. The set up team, Raffle manager, Marion and Alex Magee were also mentioned, as were Tony Haines for his hard exacting work on By-Laws and Club Procedures and Rod Bush. Gil Morgan has accepted the role of Child Protection Officer. Judy also mentioned the retirement of John and Jan Fox and Hans and Heather Franken. The members who have worked on other District Committees were thanked and named. The exchange students' contributions were acknowledged. President Judy warmly and sincerely thanked Rod for his support and care during her year. (An accolade well deserved.)

Each announcement was greeted with great pleasure, as all recipients thoroughly deserved the recognition of hard work and promotion of Rotary ideals.

2017/18 Board Members
Notices and Reports:
- RI Torquay is hosting an event with Cadell Evans on 12/7/2017 Cost is $100.00
- A move of the summer market to Ingermells Park is being considered. Manager/Co-ordinator will be Adrian Schmidt.
- An Appeal – Does anyone know the whereabouts of the stands upon which the small banners are displayed? The Collendina Hotel, David Tyrrell and Rod Birrell have been checked.

Reports:

Publicity: Please let Marg Campbell know if you have any suggestions for speakers at a meeting.

Fundraising: Volunteers are needed for the manning of the gates at the Geelong and District Finals matches. This is a good fundraiser for the Club. See Peter Cullen for more information.

Social: There will be a 'Light of Day' fundraiser for research into Parkinson's disease on 21st and 22nd July at venues in Ocean Grove. The musicians' move from venue to venue and in the past this has become an event not to be missed. The artists perform professionally and most give their time freely. Tickets can be purchased on line or from the venues. Contact Richard Grimmett for information.
- The Japan tour has been opened to other clubs from 1/6/17.
